I lead policy that supports the development of the digital identity market in the UK.

In my role I lead teams that are working to:

  1. develop and maintain the UK digital identity and attributes trust framework
  2. establish a new governing body – the Office for Digital Identities and Attributes

The trust framework aims to make it easier and more secure for people to use services that enable them to prove who they are or information about themselves. It is a set of rules for organisations to follow if they want to provide secure and trustworthy digital identity and/or attribute solutions.

The governing body provide a coordinating role for the trust framework, and it will maintain a register of trust-marked organisations that meet the standards in the trust framework. The register will be publicly available to give organisations and end users the opportunity to verify the provider they are interacting with is trust framework certified.
